Margarida Couto, PhD, has been a clinical psychologist since 1993. She is also a certified EMDR therapist, Brainspotting therapist/trainer, Psychodramatist trainer and supervisor with a vast experience acquired both at her own private practice office in Coimbra and at governmental Institutes in Portugal, where she has worked . She is an MSc in Drug Addiction and Psychosocial Pathologies and a PhD in Biomedical Sciences. Margarida is currently an Assistant Professor (she teaches Psychology and Clinical Psychology), and has presented papers at scientific meetings in various different countries (Portugal, Spain, England, Netherlands, Mexico, Canada, Germany, Austria, Argentina). In the last years she has been introducing and developing Brainspotting in Portugal, where she is the coordinator of training. She has founded the Portuguese Brainspotting Association.
