**Background:**
I graduated from UCLA in 2011 with a degree in drug and addiction studies. My educational journey has equipped me with the tools to understand and support individuals facing addiction and trauma. I am thrilled to share that I have recently become trained in Brainspotting, a powerful therapeutic approach that has profoundly impacted my healing journey. My life’s work is dedicated to helping others overcome their trauma and reclaim their lives.
**Personal Story:**
I am a survivor of “big T” trauma, having experienced significant events that have deeply affected my life. Additionally, I suffer from Complex PTSD (CPTSD) due to childhood neglect and having parents who were addicts themselves. This background gives me great empathy for individuals who are suffering from trauma and other mental illnesses. While I believe that talk therapy is important and valuable, I truly feel that Brainspotting has done more for me in just a few sessions than 10 years of traditional therapy.
My journey is also enriched by my role as a mother to two children who have struggled with addiction and depression, yet are now in recovery. Their success inspires my dedication to support others on their healing journeys.
**Mission:**
My mission is to assist individuals in recovering from their trauma, fostering healing, and empowering them to reclaim their narratives. I believe wholeheartedly in the effectiveness of Brainspotting, as it has helped me confront my own traumas. I am passionate about sharing this transformative experience with others, guiding them toward their own healing.
**Understanding Trauma:**
Trauma is a response to distressing or life-threatening events, leading to lasting effects on an individual’s emotional and psychological well-being. It can manifest in various forms, from significant life events (big T trauma) to smaller, cumulative experiences (little t trauma). By addressing trauma through understanding and support, individuals can begin the healing process and move toward a healthier, more fulfilling life.
I currently have a website that’s being built, set to launch by June 2025. While I don’t often utilize Facebook or Instagram, I will be updating those platforms soon to connect and share more resources.
