
Heidi Hoarau is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas (#80907). She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of St. Thomas in Houston. She specializes in providing individual counseling to adults who have experienced high stress, trauma or grief/loss in childhood and/or adulthood, and who currently experience emotional, behavioral or physical issues such as anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, PTSD, addiction, disordered eating, self-harm or chronic pain.
She is a Certified Brainspotting Therapist, a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and a Certified Grief Counseling Specialist (CGCS). She is also trained in Internal Family Systems (IFS) and in the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP). She has practiced counseling in private practices, community health clinics, and schools. She is on the board of the Houston LPC Association (HLPCA) and is bilingual in English and French. She also holds a Master’s degree in Electrical and Software Engineering and worked 15 years for an international corporation, managing multicultural teams in the U.S., Norway and U.K., before transitioning into the field of counseling.
