Dr. Mark Girxti, is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist and integrative therapist working in Brighton & Hove (Sussex,UK). He is a qualified and experienced child and adult therapist. Mark is the UK lead trainer and coordinator in Brainspotting alongside Gordon Barclay. He is also skilled in neuropsychological assessments and an accredited EMDR consultant. Mark’s book is now published, introducing and explaining the use of Brainspotting Therapy in a family friendly way: Brainspotting with young people: An adventure into the mind- (2015).

Mark completed the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Surrey University, and is a Chartered member of The British Psychology Society and the Health Professions Council. In addition to his private practice, Mark previously worked as a Psychologist in the National Health Service since 1997. He has psychotherapy experience across the age range from children and adolescents through to working age and older adults.

Much of Mark’s therapy is in complex trauma and he is also experienced in working with; anxiety, depression, loss, grief and bereavement, physical trauma, family relationships and separation, parenting, attachment and adjustment issues, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), abuse, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), sexual behaviour problems, headaches and migraines, phantom limb pain, pre-operation preparations, and a number of other emotional difficulties.

Mark considers it both a pleasure and an honour to have been invited into the lives of so many different people from many cultures and backgrounds. In reflection of the diversity required to be effective in this work, he adopts a flexible and integrative approach that incorporates a rich collection of therapies.

In addition to his clinical work Mark is a Brainspotting trainer and co-ordinator, university lecturer, facilitates group programs and supervises Clinical Psychologists and therapists from related disciplines. Mark also provides consultation to Health, Education, Media and Social Care institutions.
